    Default Fishing report 3/2/20

I wonder if all the stocked bass they dumped in the marina is hurting the perch run? I don't know how many they put in here, but I'm casting for perch and catching 6" and 10" bass. and I mean a lot of them. I must have caught about 15 of the little bass in 1 1/2 Hrs. and then gave up. The only yellow perch I do catch are little 5 or 6" perch. Probably could catch them if i would go to some of the upper rivers, but I just don't feel like taking a long trip looking for fish anymore.Attachment 255219Attachment 255221Attachment 255223

Fun morning anyhow with some pullage for you! I traveled 1000 miles last week and had some hours long skunks! I did finally add a Red to my species list however.IMG_0085.JPG

    Andy,

Have you considered small pieces of nightcrawlers under a bobber? This may target the perch more and the bass less.

Thanks Mike, I give up. They are not here. Worst year in four years for yellow perch. Don't yellow perch school up in deep water. Marshy Hope Creek is loaded with large blue cat fish in the deep water on the Marshy Hope Creek. Could the blue cats be having a feast? Something to think about. I know something is wrong.

At the mouth of about a 3' wide creek in the Everglades directly north of Key Largo. Made my trip! Revived and released by the way...

Go back and look at last years fishing log and reports from DNR.

There were plenty of BIG blue cats there last year. They are not new.

Yes, the large blue cats have been in Marshy Hope deep water for four years that I know of. After talking to Gary, I don't think the blue cats are the problem.
