    Default Sandy Point

Went to Sandy Point today to get my 2020 pass. She told me the 2019 pass is still good. That I should check back around April 1. New system going into effect.

Sandy Point sold me a pass in January but told me to come back and get the new swipe card when the new system is up and running. (I needed the pass for Point Lookout)

Does the Sandy Point pass work at Pt. Lookout?

The hang tag is good for ALL state parks. You need to get a separate swipe card for PLO though. (maybe the new system will allow for one card for both parks. Had to get a separate swipe card for PLO and SPSP under the old system).

I use my state passport pass at:

    • SPSP
    • PLO
    • Assateague
    • Cunningham Falls
    • Deep Creek State Park.

For $75 it is a NO BRAINER.

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources and State Parks offer free day use area admission to all veterans.
All applicable day-use entrance charges are waived for all veterans of the United States Armed Forces.
This waiver applies to both resident and out-of-state veterans.
Maryland, and Virginia, Veterans can add a special designation on their drivers' licenses.

    Hope this is helpful.

Looking for help about the Senior golden age pass. Do you get a card/passcode to swipe to get passed the gate when booth is not manned ? Do others in your vehicle get in if you have a SENIOR card to fish ? thanks

You need a separate card from Sandy Point. You go to the office with your Golden Age card and they give you a Sandy Pt. Card. You have to get a new Sandy Pt. Card every year. This was the card that was. Not available at the time I went to get it. There is a separate lane for pass holders whether the pay booth is manned, or not. Everyone one in the car with the pass holder gets into the park. I hope this answers your question.
