Pulled out of Rudee at 2:30am and headed for the point beings we can't tow to Oregon Inlet. Pulled up on the Point at 6:15. One big boat was already there and said they had spent the night and had good luck the day before. Put out spread and within a few min had a nice size wahoo free jumping just outside of the spread. Thought it was gonna be game on. For first hour had lots of deep marks and a few short bites, pulled in a few false albacore but noting else. Marks started to dissaprear and around 10am heard a boat report a good yellowfin bite up at the 750 line. Most boats picked up and ran up there. We decided to troll up the line to them. On the way up in ugly green 65 degree water we caught a nice 15lb gaffer. Got up there way overboard in 1000 fa around noon. Bite had turned off and we trolled around with the fleet till 2 and called it a day. Got back to Rudee around 6. Ran a total of 281 miles and burnt 220 gal in the Hydra-Sports 2900vx.
