    Default Pickup to Boat Ramp

    Gents

    Good day

Looking at building/buying a ramp arrangement where I can board the boat from the bed of the pickup truck.

Bad knees make it difficult at all but the highest tide to get in/out. The 'new to me' Center Console would seem to be perfect to span the gap with a plank/ladder to just walk across from the Truck.

Has anybody done this or have you seen it done?

    Thanks

    Stay safe and tight lines
    Steve

Years ago I got a 2" X 12" and some big U clamps and added non skid tape to the board then clamped it to the trailer center beam. I also got a little 2 step aluminum ladder and clamped it to the crank support post. It did add a lot of weight to the trailer and made it a little harder to move around when I did connected it from my truck. I think they sell online some aluminum walk ways for trailers.

thanks - I have seen the 'beam walkways', the scenario is that i would haul my F-A into the bed, then 'walk the plank' into the boat and back off the trailer.

Loading would be the opposite. As I am by myself 90% of the time, it would make it easy to launch/retrieve and I wouldn't have to always use passenger-side docks to get close to the dock and be able to open the driver door.

    Interesting whiting1

Will have to measure to see if the 2 Step one is tall enough.

Shame i gave away my Welder. That would have been an easy Project.

    Thanks

Sundancer I used a 2 step aluminum ladder and used clamp to attached to my trailer. I used aluminum angle bar clamped to trailer base for the ladder leg foot support. https://www.grainger.com/product/3AZ...200518123342:s

That is a good idea and i have an old ladder that i can ' make fit'.

If you have a picture, that would help.

    Thanks
