Took my 11 year old grandson out today for few hours. Got to Sandy Point about 10:30 am - surprised to see about 40 trailers there. Headed out and found Spot on west side in 15 feet over shell bottom. Most were small but we got a few 5 inchers. I honestly prefer bigger but no idea where they went.
Took about an hour to get 20 Spot - we tried for Rock but had only one 18 incher. The circle hooks were giving us trouble today - friend recommended a different hooking method I plan to try. We went after Perch and got plenty but all were 5-9 inchers. We did get about 10 Spot a kiss bigger then first bunch.
Took gamble and ran north near Baltimore light. Found Rock in 30 feet but current was almost slack. The frisky Spot were sent down to 20 feet with 3/8 sinker. Fish hit well considering it was slack current.
We missed a few but got a 22 and a 28 for our limit. Michael was not enjoying the heat so we headed back in about 1:30. Driving home he fell asleep in the AC of the truck. I smiled - thinking way back when I was his age. I did same thing after summer fishing trips with my dad.
They say that life's a carousel - spinning fast, you've got to ride it well.
Nicely done! Making more memories.
Doesn't get much better.
Nice job on the two fish. I think we can all relate on the sleepy rides home when we were younger.
Good deal! I still remember some of your posts about taking Tyler out when he was about that age.
Nice! That one is a dandy.
I had a buddy that use to fall a sleep on the way home from crabbing each time. His head would lean against the window in such a way I could pull the steer wheel and make his head bump off the window. The hard part was not laughing. To this day he still doesn't know I would do that on purpose.
Nice but not to b insulting why are the rock fish so dam skinny
