    Default Watch new Bluefish rules

With Rock closing August 16th until 31st - I'm betting many will shift to trolling for Blues and Macs.

The Md DNR has these limits for Bluefish in the bay. 8 inch min. size. No idea why it is not four Blues across the board.
    Shore or Private Boat: Daily–3
    For-Hire Boat: Daily–5

Spanish is 14 inch min. and 15 creel limit. IMHO - 14 at 14'' or 15 at 15 '' be easier to remember.

Hate to see anyone get a ticket for Blues - old limit was 10 per angler.

I remember when there was no limit on bluefish. We filled huge coolers with them in the 80's. 35-40" 15 pounds.......... Gary

An 8 inch bluefish is worthless. Minimum should be at least 14”.

The reason the DNR went with an 8in. bluefish ,and this size limit was implemented years ago from what I remember, was because the DNR said most bluefish die after being released and they would prefer you kept them as part of your catch limit. More bluefish die because of catch and release than stripers . Yet they use the opposite approach on fish management for Striped bass? I would like them to explain how they came up with totally different fish management rules for the same reason on two different fish? One of these species may come up for comment on a change in the near future.

I just checked the rock season closes from aug 16th-31st. Which would be Sunday at 12:00AM, not Friday night. Unless they changes something and haven’t made it well know?
