Crappie, bass ,pickerel 10/28/20

Caught a few good size crappie, one pickerel and a few bass this morning. I released all the fish. Can you guess what I caught them with?Attachment 257433Attachment 257435Attachment 257437 That bucket is 12" across.

Mike, this is new to me. I didn't even know this lake had good size crappie. I only caught bass and bluegill and pickerel out of this lake. This is the first time I have used the 3" Black Shad Minnows in this lake. What a surprise. Yes they are in this lake all year long, but I don't know yet if I can catch them all year long. I don't think I will be able to catch large crappie all year because it is a very large lake and I am sure they will move to other areas I can't get to fishing from shore. This is what makes fishing so much fun, Learning something new. PS I think I will make a shallow water white perch trip to see if they are still in the shallow water.

ACG, It was a surprise because for years I only used the 7.5" grape worm for bass in this lake.

Nice going Andy! I have a quick perch question. Do you think that they are still in the shallows with the water at 66 degrees? It was a bit of a tough bite for me perch casting at piers last night. Thanks!

Don, I don't know for sure, but it is a good chance where I fish some are still there. Water Temp is 68 degree there. I was going to check it out but the rain changed that. I would like to try one more time. I fished for bass this morning as the rain let up.

Andy,we are still catching white,yellow perch and rock in 4 feet of water in Stony Creek. Shad darts & grass shrimp mostly.The bite has been good until the week before Thanksgiving,this pattern has continued for the last 3 years.Hope bite continues we"ll see.Will go to crappie on the shore real soon.
