There have been large stripers caught in the surf at Assateague Island along with some redfish and black drum. A reminder you can’t target rockfish more the three miles off shore.
There might be some down there but there are still lots of rockfish (striped bass here) off of New Jersey.
The water is in the mid to high 50s and there are clouds of sand eels that are keeping fish here longer than usual.
I went out last Tuesday out of Belmar NJ for blackfish (tautog) but ran across schools of striped bass. Nothing big. Biggest was 30 inches and all caught on Tsunami plastic sand eels. Wouldn't touch a diamond jig. Wouldn't touch a BKD.
