winter catfish

Ok so its January and I need to go fishing.

Plus I want to do my part for mankind by destroying as many of those pesky nasty invasive catfish as I can, by eating them of course.
So my question for the class is, does anyone know where those critters hide out this time of the year in the NN area?
Typically I know they head to deep water as I've caught big blues in over 40' of water in the past.
But where I have been catching them the past few years (in creeks off the Potomac) the deepest holes are in the 16 ft range, and I'm thinking the main river is likely too salty for their preference.

Any body come across them in the NN region this time of the year?

I have some cornmeal that is looking for some January love!

i grew up on the Nanticoke River and we used to fish phillips landing up/mid river from the bay all winter with bloodworms and cut herring we would fish just creeks or just cast out off a dock and always catch good eating sized catfish 1 to 5 lbs and white perch/+ rockfish on the bloodworms as well at the same time. .....I would think the same would apply to all the 7 tidal rivers of the great Chesapeake!

Thanks for the feedback there Reely. I guess, as is typically the case, it's best to just to get out there and wet a line and find out.
Have my ride in getting repowered right now so will be good to go in short order!!

Just curious as I haven't fished that bridge in decades, but what kind of depth are you fishing there.
I'm thinking main channel is prob only 20ish ft, but as I said it's been a while.

To be honest, whatever depth the fishfinder lights up at. Last February we loaded up right off the main channel. Cooler was full so we starting thrownig them under the bench on the pontoon. lol
