My 2 brothers and I launched today from Buzz's for the first time. After finding our way out of St Jeromes creek (you sure dont want to stray away from the channel) we headed east out to 72. We were in a 20' Trophy and it was a little choppy so the ride out took us almost an hour. Once we got into about 60' of water we set out our 9 rod spread that consisted of both white and chartruese tandem parachutes with a mixture of 6 and 9 inch shads. Once we hit 100' of water we started marking a lot of fish ranging in depth from 20' to 95'. In about 20 minutes we had our first knock down but lost it quickly because the drag was too loose and got a bad hook set. It took about another hour and a half but we ended up with 3 fattys between 36 and 39 inches. We didn't think our chances of getting any sub 28's were very good but the day was young so we trolled around for another hour and picked up a 34 incher that we naturally released. We decided to call it a day and when we brought in the last line we found that it had a nice 20 incher on it, we were never so happy to catch a "small" fish!

We had met Christy when we launched and Mike was at the dock when we got back...talk about a couple of great people!

I can vouch for that 20 inch fish. They showed it to me before cleaning it. It might have only been 20 inches, but I bet it taste really good stuffed with crab meat!!! Good job today guys; looks like most everyone did well today. 5th (Marty)
