its been a while since Doctors' Orders left the dock in search of stripers. we headed out on 12/26 with a party of 4. made the 20 mile run to where i wanted to "look around" found what i was looking for so we set the full gear out. while setting rods the 350 got smacked with a nice mid 30 incher. shortly after, a planer rod doubled over with a 40 incher. alright, 2 fish and we dont have all the board rods out yet. made a turn to reset and get back on the fish when another board rod got smacked. this was a 36 inch fish. finally got all the gear out and made one more turn where we hooked up 4 fish all in the upper 30s. put two in the box and released the others. limit by 8 am, cant beat that!! we continued to fish til around 11 when we decided to pull gear and go looking. we worked our way back up the bay for about 30 minutes when I found the gannets. put 4 rods out and no sooner did the last one go in the rod holder we ran across the school(pic on ff) I turned around to see all 4 rods bent down and 4 anglers with smiles. after about a 5 minute drill we had 8 stripers in the boat all over 40" with the biggest one being around 45 inches. we released the fish safely and went back threw the fish with with 3 rods out and sure enough, all 3 rods bent over again. we pulled 4 nice stripers in the boat for a pic and quick release. the crew decided they had enough so we packed up and headed for the barn.

today i had fellow tfer Scott Taylor and his family on board. we went to the same spot, but got there a hair late. we had 4 bites almost instantly and then it went to a crawl with a fish about every 40 minutes or so. we fished til 10:45 and ended the day with a count of 7 landed and 2 that came unglued. sorry Scott but i didnt get any pics from todays trip.
