Left the dock at 7:15 with two others aboard to see if the fish rumored to be in the Buoy 38 area of the Baltimore Channel would cooperate. We fished in rain and pea-soup thick fog until about 1:00 PM.

Picked up our first fish about 9, a 36" beauty and got 5 more over the next 4 hours. No big concentrations of bait but there were pods scattered from Buoy 40 south to Buoy 38 and in-shore towards 36A. Not fast fishing, to be sure but we had our limit of over-the-slot fish ranging from 34 to 38", two slot-fish which went back (one of which had sores) and one 14" dink. All our bigger fish came from mid-way between ZBuoyds 38 and 40 in about 65 feet of water.

Several other boats also had their big fish limit with some fish reported over 40 inches. When the fog finally lifted we had about 25 boats within a about mile of each other all fishing on radar. Those without radar were sticking tight to those who had it. Suprisingly orderly.

We were not able to get any fish from the lower slot. Today's action appears about same as yesterday in that area. If you can get out tomorrow, give it a shot. Happy new year!

Thanks for the report Jerry. Except for the fog, that is what we have experienced at that same area over the past few weekends. BTW, I heard Mud Flap lost a big one at the boat when the swivel broke. It was apparently too big for the net.

Good to hear that we still have some nice fish in the bay. Fished with Farrell yesterday just across the ocean line and managed to catch 5 overs (nice fat fish) but never saw any concentration of fish or surface action all day. Great day on the water with a great crew!!
Thanks for your report.

Fished most of day between 40 and 38. Finally caught one 37" on mojo. Two other knockdowns and that was it for the year.
