I think most of you know my truck was vandalized at Sandy Point state park this season in late summer.Someone used a sharp item-most likely an awl or ice pick to puncture my truck and trailer tires over the course of two weeks. The DNR and Md State police both investigated it but had no luck in catching the person(s) who did it.The cameras at the park did not show my truck/trailer - just people coming/going.The police have suspects but no hard proof. The tires were all punctured in the sidewalls - all on the drivers side. The boat is stored in a locked garage- Sandy Point was the only spot it was parked in the open.

If you know who did this - the cash is yours, however-you will need to testify in court.I promised my family I would handle this matter in the courts and I keep my word.

Word on the street is the culprit reads Tidal Fish and is trying to make an example of me.It seems they do not like the "HO" program and want it to stop and feel since I go alot- I would make a good target.I do not charter my boat and have no plans to become a charter captain - although some people seem to think that.My first suspect was a poacher I turned in last year- guess it could be anyone.

A few weeks ago- I lost a trailer tire while on Rt. 3.A few days before-I had been to Sandy Point. All the lugs were gone when the tire/rim came off.The tire was last off the trailer in August and if yoy have even tried to remove lugs- you know they are tough after being underwater a few trips.I can not prove it but my gut says it was again vandalism. The tire/rim went flying off and could have killed an innocent person - time for this to stop.

I'm hoping whoever did this ran their mouth and since the fishing community is small- someone overheard them.

It is a shame someone is stooping this low - they need to be stopped and forced to pay for the damage they have caused.

If you have any info- B-mail me. Thanks, Skip.

Note: Reward "fund" is growing. The vandalism did happen at the park- I've been over everything with the police, no enemies / work troubles/etc.

Big THANK YOU to all the TFers pitching in extra money- means ALOT to me .

Capt.Buckster - some very kind TFer's have pitched in to raise the reward fund.It really surprised me but then again-TFers are good folks.

Capt. George - the first punctures were in my rear dual tires- I just figured it happened at a job site.I often have to park near the dumpsters because my truck is wide/long.The boat and trailer is stored in a locked and alarmed garage so the only time the POS could get to it was at Sandy Point parking lot.I did not make a gas or ice/bait stop the days the trailer was hit.The guys who replaced my tires said it is very rare to get a side wall puncture - maybe once in a lifetime.Six in a two week period - 100% vandalism.

WiFiguy - not alot of details. The first puncture was an outside tire on the rear dual.I did not think much about it- just figured bad luck.A few days later - I had a front flat at Sandy Point. It was such a small hole- it took time to leak out.Next was an inside dual and the new outside. They punctured the new one twice. At first I thought it was happening at home or at the jobsite.

A few days later- while retrieving the boat- my son noticed bubbles coming up from a trailer tire - that told me it was happening at Sandy Point.

I'll tell you what I told the police- there is no one after me from work/home/ or anywhere else. The police even asked if I was cheating on my wife or girlfriend - tires being punctured is often due to bad relationships - I explained no.I would be man enough to take my medicine if I did someone wrong.

It seems to boil down to me taking out "HO's" and since I post alot- I've been targeted.Guess some charter captain or guide blames me for a slow season. One reason I'm fishing so much is my construction business is at a stand still. The TFers who fish with me are not likely to charter anyway - most own boats.I'm still leaning towards a poacher I turned in last summer- he launches from Sandy Point as well.

That's most of the details - always happened on weekdays-all on driver's side.My guess is they pull their truck next to mine so it does not raise any questions.

In case you missed it - this is no JOKE to me. That is why my wife begged me to promise to handle it in court.

I guess when you are not buying the tires- it is funny.

If someone close to you got hurt/killed by my tire/rim hitting them - it would not be funny to you anymore.

Cslug - we will see how it pans out.Offering a reward is standard practice when leads run out.I'll pass any and all info to the police and let them figure out if charges can be pressed.

The DNR and police are doing their best to catch this person - they just need some info/help.

I'm sure you would feel different if it was happening to you.If it is so frivolous - how about writing a check to cover the tires , about $925.00 will do.

Bigmouth - we saw a crabber hiding two bushels of crabs in his boat.I called DNR and they stopped him and found the illegal catch.I'm sure he knows it was me that called DNR.When I called - I said it seemed suspicious that he was storing bushels of crabs in the cabin - in summer.Sure enough-he kept one on deck for DNR to see but hid the other two.I do not hesitate to call if I see poachers - DNR needs extra eyes out there.

Tunalunatic - thanks for expressing how I feel but the guys poking fun or highjacking are my friends. They are trying to cheer me up - in their weird way :D. Posting George Clinton - heaven help me :pp.

Ida Mae - it's not so much about 2 bushels of crabs and I would do it again. How can a person breaking the law get mad at someone who turns them in ????

Some info has came in that might break the case.I'll wait until the police can arrest the POS before I dare post anything but it looks to be a strong lead .

:jackthread: - I'll let you in on a not so secret - secret.Years ago I was a light tackle junkie.I used 2 and 4 lb test and was hot and heavy after a world record.Tried for any fish that seemed open in "the book".Broke off more fish then you can imagine and even came close to getting my name in the book a few times.

Then I went offshore and got my a$$ kicked by a 180 lb Mako on 50 lb line in 4-5 foot seas. After fighting that fish - I gave up "playing" with light gear.Something about big fish and heavy tackle just feels right to me.

I still go LTJ now/then when bigger fish are around.
