I looking at last year's resolutions, I did pretty well, not perfect but OK.

http://www.tidalfish.com/forums/virginia-angler/222548-my-2008-fishing-resolutions.html

For 2009, I want to continue what I started in 2008 and just a few more:

1. Join the 50 lb (or better) striper club.

2. Catch a 100 lb cobia.

3. Bring home a keeper swordfish.

4. Catch a 50 lb or better snowy grouper.

5. Refine my butterfly jigging offshore.

What are your 2009 fishing resolutions?

My goal in 2009 is to release more fish and not give as much away. I love to give fish to people who are not as fortunate as I am to live on the Eastern Shore of VA. As of April 2008 VA became my home. I fall victim to the notion that because I spend so much money chasing these fish that I find it hard to let em go. I spent thousands of dollors chasing large & small mouthed bass around the Eastern US for ten years and had no problem turning them loose. But I am having a hard time with thier salt water bretheren.

Mike,

Great suggestion, so here goes:

*Use bait casters for flounder fishing (not spinning gear).
*Catch a citation flounder
*Get off shore more to restock my tuna in the freezer
*Install the GPS Fish Finder I bought over a year ago & start marking my flounder catches
*New speaker for the back of the boat.
*Polish my boat twice this year

Happy New Year and Tight Lines

Join the tagging program...then you don't feel so bad to let them go, because they still are "your fish". Worked for me at least.

For The Admiral

My resolution is rather simple..

To try my best to get Cathy out fishing as often as she wants, and can handle it..
