No birds to help today. However we had a good day with a great crew. Everyone got at least one over 40” onboard and two of the four got their personal best fish ever. Nothing like trophy fish on light tackle in open water. It was one guy's first time jigging for trophies and he got 3 over 40" himself. Just drifting on bait in the channel. We were by ourselves most of the morning too.

We take great care of the fish. I even bought a rubber coated landing net to support the weight boating them. As the I have a camera and ruler ready so they spend little time out of the water. These fish swim off very strong. Release mortality studies have shown about a 1% release mortality when the water is cold and using single hook artificial lures. Catch and release should be encouraged to maintain high levels of fishing participation while reducing mortality. Mortality rate for kept fish is 100%.

this is the last post I will make about catch and release. You know this thread is going to be about legal reports or I am out of here again.

Does your wife have her period every month. In order to be pregnant, conception must take place in the body. To compare a fish with a human being is silly on all counts.

again, this is why this forum died. You can’t even share legal fishing reports without some dumb ass trying to be a smart ass. Peace out. enjoy your forum!

The fish are fine. Like greg said many, many studies have been done and mortality of striped bass is lowest in cool and cold water with single hook artificials. As to the breeding- Like a teenager. Its desire to breed is very powerful and stronger than pretty much anything else. After all- they wait all year for this. I've caught and released the SAME largemouth bass of his bed multiple times over a week or so when I was young and he returned to his nest to continue his spawning duties. Yes it's not quite the same but it's the idea that the fish desire to reproduce is very strong.

anyone bashing Greg saying otherwise who does not produce some sort of scientific evidence to the contrary is a troll. Plain and simple.

greg ignore the trolls.
