Cleared inlet at just before 5 and headed to Washington. The ride got nicer the further out we got. Fished with 6 other boats at the eyeball hole with lots of whales but didn't get a sniff nor did we see anyone tight. My buddy took over the helm after 2 hours and proceeded to get the long rigger hung up in a lobster ball. I figured he really wanted some mahi so we pulled the trolling gear in and switched to the bailing rods. We ended up catching 15 mahi including two bulls. The biggest was a solid 25 pushing 30#. The winds picked up around noon so I decided to get inshore and try the lumps north of lumpy on the 30 line. We put out the spread and the flippy floppy thing gets hit but no doesn't stay tight. The winds were increasing so I pulled the plug at 1:30 and headed to the barn. Sporty ride home in a quartering sea but not too hateful.
