on the james that is, blue catfish. also a 35, 30, 12 & numerous eaters. i know some of you were expecting something different, but at least i got to fish today. clarence ( my neighbor ) & i caught plenty of shad too. river was 42.5 degrees.

Nice Cat! What was yer bait? I was thinking of putting into the James next weekend. It's a short ride for me.

cut shad. caught plenty meant in a gill net.

Nice fish! Where did you catch them? Southpaw and I tried catfishing in the Dutch gap area today. The water looked like chocolate milk! We were able to cast net some small shad and caught on small cat.

smashten, i got about a doz left for my next trip, b-mail me i'll hook up with you next time.

john, you know cat fishing holes are like trout holes, i'll give you this middle between hopewell & chic. deep water. ten rod spread. you also know cats love milk. if they can smell it, they can find it. blood baby, blood!!!

Southpaw KNOWS what he is doing...he has caught more big cats than we will ever know......he just didnt want to show you his holes

OK OK I will give you 1 spot for Dutch Gap.....hit the creek and find this boat house.......Earl had caught several over 60 there......this little one was 72 pounds.......

That may well be true Jamie. But I have learned more for Mike than anyone else about fishing. He is a great teacher and I am greatful for the lessons I have learned. Even though I did not get us on the fish yesterday. (we were in my boat) We had a great time swapping fishing stories!

Oh I know that spot!!! Thanks. I have not tried fishing there yet. I am a novice when it comes to fishing the James. Although I have caught a few in the 20s. I appreciate the info!!
