If you can tie a rolling hitch it works fine to tie off to a anchor line so it's accessable from the center of a Yak.

For years we did this on big boats that had no good place to haul the anchor from forward.

Another thing we used to do is run the boat up on the anchor line then throw a grapel over it pulling it into the cockpit making it easy for two guys to haul from amidships. It was a big old heavy anchor.

All these rigs have the same end use, But on my yak I use a anchor trolley. It's easy and adjust real quick.

Only thing I do different than most people is I have two. One for forward and another for aft. Less line to run and I almost never need to adjust it the full leingth of the boat.
