Thats cool, but havn't people been doing the same basic thing for years with a thick zip-tie?
Didn't you read my post ? Better than the zip-tie method and reusable . The link to buy them is right next to the video box . As much as I fish around rocky structure , that thing will do wonders for me . I got stuck on the south jetty in OC last year . I tied off to the stern cleat and proceeded to pull with the motor . I wasn't very deep and when the anchor finally popped free , it rebounded back at the boat so fast that the chain hit the prop:eek2: , damaging it pretty good . It was a wonder the darn thing didn't come in the boat and decapitate me . I've heard plenty of similar stories that didn't end so well .

I think that we are missing something here. There is no post that I can see. Without the post , goinsfishin question sounds right to me, same as a zip tie.

It looks cool but if I read the website correctly you need to install a new release pin everytime the release trips?? A release pin is $3 Then you leave nylon trash on the bottom? Also the thing is pre set to break at a certain poundage. What if conditions changed and you needed the poundage increased to hold bottom in heavy current or rough seas? Answer: Buy bigger release pins?
Looks like a great deal for the company making and selling release pins? Am I missing something here?

Not sure what could be eaiser or cheaper than an 18" length to 100# mono wrapped 2 or 3 times then again to the chain so not leaving any trash in the water.
