Going to appear before the Va Beach City Council to try to reverse the decision with the powers that be about wading and fishing the Lynnhaven bar on Tuesday 6 November.

What I am looking for are pictures of people fishing the Lynnhaven bar, preferably with the Lesner bridge in the background for reference to establish a precedence of our historical presence there at the bar...

Please email pics to: RS15BEACH@YAHOO.COM

I think Hal Lyman and Frank Wolners book Weakfishing has a picture of fishing the Lynnhaven bar. must be 50 years old.

I have a copy if you want to borrow it for the meeting. will get it out and make sure it;s as I remember

Send me a pm with your contact details

Gary I've got an analogy that hit me the other day that may be usefull in your argument and this isn't meant to harm others because I was/am one of them. If a person can still go surfing when the lifeguards put up the red flags because it's deemed too rough for swimmers what's the difference in a KNOWLEDGABLE fisherman wading a spot with a strong curent because those are the best conditions to fish in?? Just a thought. I'm going to try to attend the meeting and look forward to meeting all of you that have put so much effort into saving this spot that is one of the last still open to the public.

Another analogy...

Because there are Rip Currents present at the ocean front EVERY DAY, (it is a function of tidal activity, wind direction/force and sand bars to reconstruct themselves in an ever changing routine forming rips) granted, some days much worse than others, then is it to far fetched to state that someday in the near future the VBCC may come out and say that we can't wade out surf cast from the beach at the ocean front?

I think this was brought up before. But how about we suggest that the use of PFD's be mandatory to wade fish Lynnhaven? I'd rather not don one, but will to keep fishing there.......legally.;-)

Get this. I fished the duck side Tuesday am from 0730-1000 or so. A VB police chopper buzzed the area several times at 1000 or so. It was quite clear what they were doing. You gotta be frikin' kidding me!!?? I left as I didn't know if he would dispatch a foot soldier to harass us. There is a no wading sign on the duck side and its right near the bridge. But I don't know how far North they enforce it....like the Jimmies side. Most of us were in front of or just North of the gazebo.

CYA on the 6th!
