That's what I thought (Graybeard) - I guess I'll just have to follow you out of the barn (i keep my boat at fairwinds) and see how you catch em in the spring;)

your best bet to stick a big spring striper with a fly would be the susky flats, at least in my opinion. there may be some other spots further south that are good fly spots that i dont know about. good luck!

Have tried it a few times, but you have to get close to the pilings and rocks. The current is often too strong to get down very deep...so the best place is right up tight to the pilings at first light or dusk when the fish are higher in the water column, or up tight to the rocks during the day. Try to find an upcurrent corner at one of the rock piles and drift the fly close to the rocks past the corner. Sometimes you do well, and sometimes, you wear your arm out trying.
