Nice report, but I think another problem should have been included - loss of filter feeders. Their part in the carbon, nitrogen and phosphate cycles is critical to the bay water quality. Even if all manmade runoff were eliminated today, it would not cure the turbidity problem. Carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus come from many natural sources too. The article tap danced all around that problem, but I didn't see where it directly mentioned it. Without filter feeders, the cycles are broken.
What do you have against lap dancing? Whoops, I read that wrong. Different kind of dancing. Don't hold back RB. Tell us how you really feel!
Sorrry to say I agree with redbeard, CBF generates a lot of money every year and the best that seems to happen is their annual "F" they give the Bay in the water quality report every year.

I can hardly remember when there wasn't some sort of Save the Bay org. or Govt program being activily promoted. Where has all the contribution and tax funding gone and why is the bay worse than ever??? We've given up overboard potties, good bottom paints, erected a trillion miles of silt fence, taken thousands of acres of farmland outof tillage, closed toxic discharges and shut down polluting manufacturers by the hundreds yet, according to one EPA Wizard, the bay is so polluted, crabs are crawling up rocks and pilings to get out of the nasty stew.
Is it possible someone is milking this cash-cow AND drinking the milk themselves??
By the way, don't give me the Menhadden/filter feeder Demise story. If you've fished this fall, you'll know there are a lot more of them now than in many years.
