Got through the cut at about 1pm, I tried a few spots without much luck but a couple perch, I decided to take a little longer run then usual and it was the right call:D
I found thousands of working birds and I knew I would be in for some good fishing

I started out jigging a hopkins and catching some nice fish, but then they started busting on top so I started using a popper and they were slamming that. The sassy shad was working really well retrieving it slowly with an occasional twitch
I probally caught about 40 fish, all over 20" and half around 30" give or take a couple inches, The biggest was 34" but I had one on that had to be over 40" but it broke the line, my own fault for having the drag set to tight. simply awesome couple hours
I had a pic of a bigger fish but I must of erased it some how

I went out yesterday morning(my boats in back river). The wind was blowin pretty good and the tide way out. I fished around the islands and mouth of the river and didn't see any signs of life. There were plenty of burds flying but no concentrated activity. I had a few marks off north point but left because the wind was starting to blow harder. Glad to see you found em. Yesterday was not what I was hoping for.

Zam,

Saw you out there tonight. Yes it was awesome!! Majority of our fish caught were in the 25" range. Had a couple near 30" as well a nice fish breakoff at the boat.

I tried some poppers as well but never got a taker. Did catch some near the surface on BKD's and caught lot's neart the bottom with a gold spoon called "Lil' Bunker" and the Stingsilver.

That's about as good of a night as I've ever had in the upper bay.

well it's about time!!!

Haven't seen a report of good working birds or seen good working birds yet up here!!

They're about 3 weeks late!!!

Thanks for the report ZAM, nice pics too.

I agree with the other poster, afternoon bite has seemed like the way to go lately.

Oh yeah, how far of a run did you make? Over to the chester??

TIGHT LINES!!!

Hi ZAM,

Good going! Always look forward to your posts as I fish that area (but without the success you have). Beautiful sight - working birds and good quality fish.

We fished the Patapsco this morning just east of the Key Bridge. Mainly trolling with some LJT. Marked lots of fish but no takers. Saw a few of the trollers pick up fish occassionally.

Keep on posting,
