Went out of Messick(nice launch for small boats) to mouth of Back river tried Flatties but Nothing for us and did not see anyone else catching. We made the run up to Back Creek and just enjoyed a few hours of a lot of Croakers on ultra-light tackle. Front came in and had a rough run back to Messick. Just nice to get out...

speck rigs

Ya'll will probably think I'm full of it, but I have routinely caught croakers on speck rigs by slowly dragging them across hard bottom spots. Quick way to get some crab pot bait without leaving the dock.

We were drifting blood worms on the bottom in about 18 ft. We tried artificial worms and seemed about 1 inch of worm worked best. Hooked up on just about every cast what a blast
