Guys if you want to see a great show go by all means. For now I can just dream. Some really nice fishing boats.
Saw Tristate salesman Ron And also One Fish. I was with 3 friends who all have boats.
That always makes it interesting.

Is Ron the only salesman Tri-state has? I see that guy everywhere! He is also a great salesman too, I introduced myself ONCE while browsing Parkers at Tri-state and he has remembered me every time we've seen each other since.

Marty Yes by far one beautiful boat. Those lights I first thought they were for the show ,but changed my mind. Do you think they would draw Stripers? :)
Maycraft 18 /115 Suzuki for 18,00.00 Good deal? I sure enjoyed it.

Lots of beautiful new shiny fiberglass to crawl around on. Boaters World had a good deal on the Penn 330/Slammer combo spooled @ 89-
Marty, I like that BIG Everglades on the end, the 35 EX. The salesman told me they sold one at the Timonium show...go figure.

As I posted on THT:

HOLY SMOKES the show was DEAD. Same size and same vendors as last year (maybe slightly smaller but hard to tell). Big news was that the place was empty. My buddy who was working the MSSA booth said that Wed night was as dead as when I was there. Industry must really be HURTING. While I already bought my boat for the year, there were pleanty of eager salesman ready to "answer questions" for anyone looking.

Notes from the show:

Favorite boat of mine, my kids and my wife was the 34 Parker. Boat even looks bigger indoors and the cockpit is ballroom dance floor.

I will say the new Everglades 35 Express was VERY cool and wins the coolest boat of the show in my eyes.

Other boats I dug were:
1. the new whaler CC's. I kinda really like the new lines and consoles
2. Pursuit 345SF.. the center tackle/rigging station is very unique and Pursuits have very nice lines in general
3. New console on the Parker 23se. Not only did it add dry storage to the boat but I think it improved its lines on a classic looking boat.

The Craziest over-priced boats the new 28 Albemarle with twin 300 verados. Boat show special price was over 216k..... its competitor the 28 Southport Express was 169k I believe. yes the cockpit on the Southport is very small not "Fishy" enough IMHO but for 45k and a nicer cabin, give me the southport.

Best value of the show was the Sea Hunts. Nice boats for the money and appeared finished very nicely. The loaded 22' walkaround with a nice hard top and f200 was in the lower 40k range if I remember correctly. There were other value lines too but for some reason the Sea Hunts finish shined against them.

Of course these are the brief mental notes I took based on what I saw. I toured the show with my wife and 3 kids as a way to get the kids out of the house and walk around a bit. I certainly didnt look hard or spend anytime comparing models. Great part about the show is that I like my boat better than anything else we saw there. My wife was glad to hear me say that

I guess it was the 35 express Everglades. Salesman said it is fully foam filled from the stringers to the deck to resist any twisting while running in big offshore seas. He said he sold one to a guy that put it on his credit card (a Black American Express card). Seems you have to be close to a bilionaire to have one. So; if I hit the lotto, I can afford the boat, but not the card.
Hell; I'd be ashamed to put my tackle on that boat. 5th (Marty)

Hi Gang,

Nice talking with you Les.

I had a great time. was there 6 hrs from noon til 6pm. 1/2 of the time with JJ, rest by myself.
It's all in your expectations. Of course it was slow on a thurs during the day. hope they are very busy this weekend.

Some of the boats are just outstanding (as is the price). southpt, everglades, edgewater, on and on.:clapping2::clapping2:

I have been looking at the sea hunt cc's also. hard to justify another 30-40 thousand for the big name boats.
This is the first time in years that I looked hard at the cc's. Renewed some memberships, talked to a few people, took 1/2 hr for lunch of course.;-):D

Yes, ron is everywhere. he is the one with the receding hairline, on the short side and has a big smile. great guy..:D

I had a ball. some of those boats are unreal (and the price).
IF money was no object, hard to turn down Hank's boat (26 southport).

See ya.:D

They had remote control sailboats and were setting up another pool for something yesterday. There was nothing cool like the Bond Movie boats of the other year. They had a "green boating" section but there was not really anything there that was cool. If your kids dig looking at boats, then it is a good place to stretch their legs. Some booths had their token hotties that maybe a 12 year old would like :D

Tri State has two salesmen - Ron and Robert. Both have been there at least 12 years , that's when I met them.I bought my boat from Robert - he really was good to deal with.No pressure - I made three trips to Tri State checking the boat out and twice stayed an hour later then the shop was open.Robert never rushed us - guess he was fairly sure I was buying.

Ron is amazing with names/people , a gift I would love to have.He even tried to get me on the 34 Parker at the show :D.

Both Ron and Robert are honest salesmen and great to deal with.

I'm going back Sunday and plan to look around some more.always fun to look at new boats .
