I'm looking to spend more time in the area fishing out of Arrowhead Beach. I would appreciate some local advice on boat selection.

Assuming you are not a tournament bass fisherman I will offer the following suggestions:

For function, economy and versatility, I'd look at a Carolina Skiff in the 17-19' range if you prefer fiberglass or a 17' aluminum hull.

Either of these can be outfitted to suit your particular needs, require little horsepower, will allow you to fish skinny water, and don't cost alot to operate.

Hope this helps

MSX,

My parents live in Arrowhead and I have been fishing there since I was a kid. I mainly fish for bass along the trees on the river and in the canals. I like a typical bass boat, either fiberglass or aluminum. I never had an issue with shallow water. Go to Pembroke Fishing Center in Edenton and they can give you some advice: http://www.pembrokefishingcenter.net/
