Departed my house in Poquoson with fellow Bull Island Anglers Club Members
Craig (BYRD) and Blake (fishsalmon). Arrived Eastern Shore a little North of
18 at 0730 hrs. Put out 7 lines with eels from top to about 25 ft. Had one bump
and run as soon as lines were put out but did not stay on. A few minutes later
my shimano 3500 w60lb braid took off, I grabbed the rod and could tell this one
had shoulders. Craig and Blake cleared the lines and netted what ended up being
a 47" 42 pounder. While we were getting it out of the net and admiring our first
catch of the day, "Honker" another Poquosonite who is passing us on the troll yells
out that we have a rod bent over up high. Blake promptly grabs it and reels in a
nice 38 incher. We made several more drifts to a now slowing tide with only one
more short pull but no takers, could not find a third fish for Craig. This was the
second time I have fished with Craig and the first with Blake, it was my pleasure.
Back at home 1300 hrs.
