I don't know whether I should feel proud of the fisherman or sad for the marlin, or both, or neither, but this fish died after fighting for 7 hours, while still on the line. That's called a heart attack and that thought struck a nerve. Its a page right out of "The Old Man and the Sea". For those who have never read Hemingway, read this one. Maybe I'm just getting old.
I know when I saw the video of them hoisting it up at the dock I felt sad that such a great creature died. I figured it's life got drained after such a long fight and couldn't be resuscitated. Well, I'm hoping that was the case. Great catch though.
