We decided at the last minuite this morning to go and try once more our luck on this little grass field for geese today. We got the deks set at 7:15, ground frozen and our tool for setting silouttes in froze ground bent the ground was so cold, so we only set about 10 silouttes out today. Seen 4 birds at 7:30 comming off the big water, never gave us a look. 1 hour of waiting and at 8:30 they started flying, first volley we got 2 outta 3, should have had the third, but he flew right into the sun and I lost him, about 1/2 hour til the next shot, a few more hit the ground including 1 from my biddies 8 yr old son, (NICE)!
We had another youth in the mix this morning, he was able to get his first bird. Birds really came off the water good at 9:30 and we limited out with 8 birds. It really didn't feel that cold this morning. Did anybody else get out today?

I'd like to get on some blue bills before next week, any reports would be great help.

We had a good hunt Friday afternoon in our layouts, even managed to scratch out a mallard in the field. Saturday we got skunked, geese never started flying until noon. We had a hard time competing with live birds landing across the street from us. We took out a group of Wounded Warriors, had a good time in the blind even though we were shooting. Some of the stories these guys shared Wow! amazing what they went through.

I took a wave over the bow yestrday in the James and went down quick! We were just barely able to walk in our chest waders and were able to recover the boat. Gid knows that was a scary morning.
Glad you are ok. You are a cople of lucky hunters! What size boat were you in and how rough was the water? Did you guy report the incident to the CG or CPOs?

Thank God you were able to touch the bottom and make it out okay.

We tore up the ducks at back bay in one of our blinds! Ice was everywhere and the birds worked all day.
