We would like to thank all 69 boats that entered the 1st Calcutta Wahoo Challenge! It was a great weekend of fishing and the weather held (except that squall that moved in early Sat. AM). Approx. 40 fish hit the scales on Friday with the Delta Dawn (Capt. Pete Manuel/Angler Darryl Brower, Morehead City) taking the lead and keeping it with a 66.75 lb. wahoo! Approx. 20 fish weighed in on Sat. Our Jr. Angler winner was Frankie Jones fishing from the Razorback Express and our Lady Angler winner was Heather Anthony fishing from Builder's Choice.
We will be doing a 2-series event next year...April 19-21 in conjunction w/ the Take A Kid Fishing Boat & Tackle Show. We will finish up again in Oct. 19-21. We should have all the info up on the series in a few weeks at www.calcuttawahoo.com All proceeds benefit TAKF Foundation and Hospice of Carteret County.
