Calvert Cliffs is a rest stop for migrating stripers. When it's real warm in the winter we get a few big ones staying around all year but it's been so cold that the rips won't hold many big fish until al least March some time. There's always an exception or two, but, you'll probably only catch a few small residents in the conserving energy in the back of the discharge this time of year.

I'm confused

How was there a rip in front of the powerplant in the "Skip's ( 27 sailfish) post 97 miles for 1 rockfish" post if it is shut down for spring cleaning?

Does anyone have a source that can verify that the powerplant is shut down? I've searched around the internet and could not find a thing.

Is anyone going to verify if it is open or not? I'd hate to cross from Cambridge in my 12' flat bottom to not catch anything...
If'n thats what your gona be fish'n off of, stay at home. Unless your craft can navigate 3' standing waves, stay at home. Specially this time of year. I'd hate to see ya ruin someones day cart'n your butt to the hospital. No fish is worth that................................:nono:
