Busted the cherry on my new Backyard Custom Rod first thing yesterday morning. Eeling in 50+ feet right next to Old Plantation light. The fish was 37 lbs and 46.5". The rod handled perfectly during the fight as well as the Avet MXL 5.8 I put on it. I have never fished a better combo.
I have several Steve F custom rods and they are the best. Thanks for everything Steve:clap:

Sorry for the crappy cell phone photo, I have NO idea how only half the picture got blurred.

Steve built me the perfect rod for those depth's but I didn't get to try it last week at CBBT. Good thing about dealing with Steve is I had problems with my the jigging stick he built and he fixed it. Can't beat dealing with the little guys, no pun intended.

Very nice fish. Congrats. Steve builds a great rod. He made me a 6'med. heavy spinning rod for big rock and I landed a 6' 100#+ Sand Tigershark in NC with it. The rod did a great job even though I put some serious pressure on that fish.

Tom I see you figured out how to use Photo shop :D:D

I have a few of Master Steve's rods and wouldn't buy anything different ! Great rods with plenty of backbone I should know I've been trying to break one for 5 years with no success even in 300 ft down catching 2 Tile fish at a time :D:D

Thanks for some great rods Steve !

Tom, I really appreciate the phone call and the photo last night (after the wife figured how to get it) I could defiantly hear the excitement in your voice about that your :bigfish: . Sorry for all the mix up with the rod but it sounds like it did what it was built for. Congrats and thanks so much for the plug I appreciate that.

Mike- I know you have been trying but one of these days you’re going to hook up on that Great White and I think it’s going to give on that one. :surrender: Thanks buddy and where in the he## are my jig heads I have been waiting by the mail box for 2 months now and it’s really starting to get cold out there. :D

Jack- Just wish you could have gotten a pic of that shark with that 6’ rod, man that would have been a great shot. Got your message and I’ll give you a call tomorrow.

Bob- You’ll get your chance just stick with Burgess he’ll show you how to try and break those rods.
