Left out of Rudee around 6 headed towards Dam neck area cause the bite has been pretty good there lately. Got setup with a 5 rod spread chartreuse mojo, white umbrella, red and white stretch, red and white mojo and a chartruese umbrella trolled from damn near sandbridge to just outside rudee and saw no birds working but did mark fish and bait all the way up. Decided to heads towards the fleet around the Ramada and CH started out 2.5 miles off of ramada and wham the stretch gets crushed. Me being a dumb arse forgot to put the clicker on and by the time i realized the line was spooling off like crazy it was too late. This fish ripped off 300 yards of 50lb braided in a matter of seconds at first i thought big a$$ striper but that was until i talked to Robert (playnhooky) and he said it was a BFT. I tried my best to stop him and im paying for it with a burnt up thumb:hammer: Anywayz fishing was very slooow today but it seemed to pick up in the afternoon. Last i talked to Kevin (weekend mistress) he was 1 away from a limit (hope you got it) Beautiful day on the water except for that fog that rolled though... Brandon

Thanks again Kevin and robert for helping me out!!!

Brandon,

WOW! a very exciting report. A BFT!! I hope your thumb heals quickly..I am guessing the next time you're out you will be checking the clickers. I had a what I like to call " a monster" fish run with my line last year around the golfball area .. It unspooled my 250 yards of 65 lb braid like it was nothing and to see this mess go off like this was nothing short of amazing to me. I had never seen anything like it.. You have definitely got my attention cause it was on a stretch 30. Good luck out there & Thanks for the report.

Slow Day, But Nice Out!

Brandon,

Good talking and networking with you today. It was definitely a slow fishing day. Took us all day to scratch out our 5 fish (never got the last one for a 3 man limit). All of our fish came from the upper 3rd of the water column and hit white with red trim parachute rigs. It was a good time fishing with Scott & Raymond on Scotts boat Friday's Off.

Tight Lines & Happy Holidays,
Kevin

Sorry about getting spooled Brandon. I haven't mad a run a the CH bite since it's heated up but we're still catching at the HR. Not to jack your thread but we went out Fri night and with a 5 rod spread we limited. It might have taken 6 hours but all 4 fish were hoss's. Start of either current produced top to 20' down and once it was running hard the bottom was the ticket. Eels are officially striper crack.
