Departed my house in Poquoson at 1200 and went straight to
Cape Henry. Had my Brother and 3 of his fellow Engineer
co-workers from Richmond with me. We trolled for 3 hours
with no bait or marks. Saw some other TFers out there and
got a nice pic of Fish Dad off of the light. The Coast Guard
was really manning the 3 mile line today. I will try again in
a couple days. Back home 1745.

Heard you on the radio in my driveway talking to someone(don't rmember who)talking about the pics of the whale you posted and you both wanted to get at least one fish before you went home. I guess that never happened? Had my hands full working on the boat or I would have had to jump in and agree, the pics of the whale were great!!! Sorry you guys got skunked. One of these days I am going to find me a Sea Do and join you on your fishing adventures. Right now I am still getting Mama over the $40K on the new outboards....2 years later. Thanks for the posts and the great pics. I always enjoy reading and looking at the pics. Martin

It was just terrible fishing out there Brian. I had to run 35 miles north to find fish that had moved WAY over the line. After putting almost 100 miles on the boat for the day, we caught and released a bunch but still came home with nada. It was pretty dissappointing to run that far and have to release our fish, but it is what it is. The water is too cold right now. Strangely there is warmer water to the north. I dont know how that works, but hopefully it wont stay down in that 33.5 to 37 degree range for long. I am getting ready to go for today.

Brian, great talking with you out there. Thanks for the pics. You know boatpix.com charges $500 for a shot, maybe you got yourself a new business plan there. Only place we saw bait and birds was off dam neck near a whale which could be the same one you saw Thursday.

We were out at CH yesterday afternoon and enjoyed the same "skunkaroo" as most everyone out there. We did see Bill Collector dragging lines near us and it sounded like all the fishing was, in fact, up north. Back in the slip at LBP I talked with another (Tiara) crew that was up at Wachagpreague who said the entire Rudee fleet was up there. Yet another adventure filled with "shoulda been there...not here." Still beat sitting in the office on a day like yesterday!
