I'll be heading down to Carolina Beach NC (Cape Fear region) for a long weekend on Friday. I have never been down there but i am planning on taking the yak. Any suggestions on where to fish would be appreciated. Thanks[smile]

Drive all the way south to Fort Fisher and fish the marshes inside the Jetty. They Jetty itself is good but watch the current running over it and through breaks. Inside the Jetty you have it about all to yourself or a few locals that now how to get around shallow water.

like anyplace else look for the drop offs points and deep spots.
There is an old intererior wood jetty that has deep holes on each side that is good about 2 or 3 miles from the boat ramp.

Carolina beach inlet itself is good but lots of big boat pressure. The guy that runs the Yak rental and tour company down there is a good fisherman and charters some on the side. I bet he will give you the update if you stop in. Thats how I found my way around first time. Also look for the fishing report in the local paper. Capt Jimmy Price.
