theres not enough water in dam neck to even launch a canoe right now- ws there yesterday.

cats are few and far between in northwest till water temps rise a bit-

nothing at nite for sure

best bet as chad mentioned - james river.....dutch gap or deep bottom

if you are willing to make the drive, the water just below Walkers Dam on The Chickahominy will be holding big cats when the Herring make their annual run...use big baits or you will be covered up in small fish

Saw some guys weighing in a 38lb cat tonight after we got done weighing in our tiles and bass. They had been up the James and caught several other nice ones also.

you dont hear of very many people removing the big cats from the waters up there. the ones who do just dont know any better- any thing over 10 pounds we left go.......if they eat the 38 pounder they will get a real nice dose of PCB's !!
