We headed down to cbbt Tuesday morning and launched at Kipto at 10 am. Fished with Charlie Trophy and my brother Jason (1st trip to cbbt).
Worked the usual areas of 9' shoal, pilings near 4th, tube etc... Winds were 10-15 out of SE and water temp was 41.6*.
Caught numerous football size fish. Biggest was 27". We found many more fish in the pilings than the last 2 trips. We had a strong incoming along with a south wind that made it dicey, but Charlie managed well at the helm.
We chatted with Ron - Onefish and Cattail throughout the morning. They were having similar results. We got a call from Ron about 30" class fish so we headed over to where they were. Ron was working the bridge, but we noticed a lot of gannets outside on the ocean side. We decided to check out the birds real quick. It ended up being the right decision.
Immediately we marked real nice marks on the finder. Jason and Charlie quickly hooked up with a double header. While I watched and didn't get a nibble.
They both had real nice fish. Charlie had very little line on his reel and nearly got spooled. :bigfish:
Charlie's 47" Personal Best
Jason's 42" Personal Best
We called One Fish and Cattail at this point to tell them what we just did. Not sure if they hooked up with those fish or not?
After we regrouped, we followed the birds a little farther outside and found sweet marks again. Dropped the lines and Charlie and Jason hooked up again with a double header. Me? nadda. :helpsmilie:
They both had big fish on again.
Charlie 42" that looked real stressed...
Jason with a sweet 36"
The birds dissipated so we took a lunch break. While we ate the cold front moved in and the wind shifted to the north 15-20 and the rain started to move in. The pilings were tough to fish, the 4th marked no fish on ocean or bay side. Tube was too rough. We decided to head for the barn. After we washed down the boat we decided to head home since Wednesday was calling for 15-20 NW and gusts to 30.
We can't thank One Fish and Cattail enough for the call that made the day!!! Thank you very much!:clapping2::thumbup:
