Looking to do some C&R light jigging around the pilings this weekend, but a little concerned about the 15~20+ forecasted SSW winds (in my 18'cc). I think the tide is going out all morning against the wind. What do you guys think?

I've got a 2006 parker 18ft and don't have any problems with those winds as long as
I stay inside the first island...I have full curtains and trim tabs which help....
It's all in what you feel comfortable in...

I have fished it in alot worse conditions that I wouldn't recommend.

If the winds are S or SW, you can often fish out to the 1st Island on smaller boats with higher winds. Beyond the first, you loose the protection. But if they shift, W, N, or E, then it's no longer any fun in 15-20 knot winds.

If you have to decide if the conditions are too bad to go, then they probably are. If you start out in the biggest that you want to handle and it gets worse, then you're in for a long day, nothin like getting sprayed when it turns to ice before it hits you....

I'd say wait for another day. Sat morning (via the current models) looks decent but it goes downhill from there...and you'll be limited as to where you can fish (hide behind the islands)...

Good luck if you go and be safe.

All of the above, it comes down to what you are comfortable with. I also matters how far you travel. The guy who live down at the beach can give it a look and make a decision. I have traveled from Fredericksburg with a forecast of 15 out of the north east, pulled my 240 coastal out of little creek and turned around and went to YNot pizza for lunch before heading home. 9 hours and $60 in gas and bait gone. At least the pizza was great.

The forecasted winds have come down from earlier this week ... You never know until you look at the water from the ramp. We are planning to go.

Worst case scenario we fish the concrete ships.

The winds are currently forecast to be 15-20 mph out of the NW. Waves 3 to 4 ft. The waves will be ripping down and across the bay.

Think safety first!!!
Thats The Sunday Forecast. On Sunday afternoon, I will be in a pub somewhere watching the Eagles beat up on the Giants (Hopefully)

Saturday is 10-15 out of the south.

Even whne you look from the ramp beware of what may be coming up. Iknew there was an advsiory out but figured the front had come through quicker, blew itself out or whatever. I put in at Kiptopeke last night with very reasonable conditions, went out to the high rise, winds increased and had a very, very uncomfortable ride back. Fortunately, we were prepared but it wasn't much fun.
