Fished sunday and monday from about 10 to 3 each day and found there are plenty of schoolie fish on the bridge. Most fish in the mid 20s but the biggest was 31". Gives me hope there are still some big ones to be had at the high level. Waiting on the right weather night to give eeling another try. Anyone caught better class of fish lately at night? Walt

Hope you are fishing with circle hooks to protect the catch and release needed to preserve the fishery??????

Maybe some people are a little upset that they are spending so much money on fuel and not catching any thing to keep. I just like to catch fish. John-thanks for the concern on the fish , they all swam back where they came from. Walt

So, here's the concern and WHY I say that. Came across the bay from the eastern shore and saw 3 dead 30+ inch float in the bay. Pulled one out of the water and saw that it was gut hooked. So, someone did catch and release on a perfectly healthy fish, killed it and let it go back. To me thats a shame and a crime..... I think if you fish the bay in the closed season you shouldn't use treble hooks or J hooks.

Maybe I'm fortunate to have had a great year on the stripers with 3 citations. But in order to get to that point, we all need to protect our fishery.

I understand your point but I also think there are just as many people who will put back fish from the cooler when a bigger one comes aboard. There will never be a way to regulate what everyone does all the time, we can just hope everyone does there best and makes the right decisions. Walt
