I will be visiting the Leeburg area July 21-29.

Any reccomendations as to where to fish? Charters, species to target that time of year? Inshore offshore? I have heard a lot about the Indian river, large area though.

We did catch some nice amberjack offshore, but its been 20 years.

I would like to put my son on some good fish Amberjack, Grouper, Redfish???. I have never done any fishing in that area, and don't really what is biting when or where.

I just hate to pick a charter out of the book or off the net.

Any personal reccomendations on who to fish with is greatly appreciated.

[Beach Tarpon]

I fish the Tampa Bay area. You'll be here at a good time with great tide days. Snook, Redfish, Snapper, Spanish Mackerel, and Tarpon could be targets.

I assume you will be in Leesburg in central, FL. Only about an hour + to good fishing. For offshore, best bet would be out of Port Canaveral. Also, excellent sight fishing for reds in the Mosquito Lagoon via tons of good guides and also in the Indian River and IR Lagoon. Not sure of the bite now but generally some good action to be had just off the beach also.
