This was copied fron another board

Here is charter boat that thinks he can out run the coast gaurd lets hope they burn him good!!!!!!!!!!

CFV Never-e-nuff was chartered and underway fishing past the 3 mi line off of NC. The CG approached vsl who then took off while throwing 20+ fish overboard. NC CG notified VA CG that vsl fled and was heading north. The CG had a helo in the air and quickly located the vsl. A CG response boat from LC was vectored in to the vsl to find them scrubbing their fish holds, 11 POB, and plenty of filets. The punishments are expected to define "the fullest extent of the law"

If the Coast Guard has video or recovered any of the tossed over fish - somebody is in a world of trouble. The feds do not play around.Throwing the fish over says they knew they were doing something wrong.Won't be some little slap on the wrist fine either. With radar and GPS - the captain should have known he was outside the line.

In NC - you are allowed (I think ) 3 Rock per person.Still have to stay inside the 3 mile line though. With 11 people - that would be 33 Rock.

I would love to hear the conversation in the cockpit :D - OH SH*T - quick guys - help me throw these fish over FAST :eek2:.

Don't they know that they can't out run a eye in the sky. I hope they nail this guy to the wall. Hey Todd I'm picking your rod up from Burgess on Saturday, I think he said it was your rod.

Where did you get your information because it is outdated and not accurate. First of all the incident occurred Sunday.

The Coast Guard boarded the Never-E-Nuff within the three mile line. He did not dump the fish he caught, because his legal limit was onboard the vessel when the Coast Guard boarded.

Despite the Coast Guard questing, threatening, and interrogating the captain and the paying party for several hours without letting them leave the boat, no evidence was found that the fish were caught outside the three mile zone and no charges were filed.

I normally don't like to get in others buisness but Shawn is a good guy and should not be demonized for no reason. No charges were filed at the end of the day. The Coast Guard is dying to make an example of someone. If they had evidence or video, they would not have let him get off or at the very least let the courts decide what happens to him and issue him a ticket any way.

Like I said, no charges were filed.

Good point!

I just hate to see a local boys reputation shot because of false information.

The whole "chase" thing came about because the Coast Guard tried repeatedly hailing Shawn on 16 and the boat was not monitoring 16. Shawn had no clue he was being "chased."

So was he "outside" the 3 miles when being "Chased"?

A "Charter Captain" not monitoring 16? Isn't he required to monitor 16? for passenger/vessel safety?

Lets be really careful until we have the whole story. Like Francis I have heard there was nothing illegal going on. Nor any citations issued.

Innocent until proven guilty.

If guilty, crucify him.

Lets just wait until we have the full story
