Went to the Chester River / East Neck Isalnd area yesterday afternoon and found out the crabbing had dropped off a-lot versus this past weekend. Talked to the commercial waterman and they mentioned the crabs are on the move out to deeper water.
We managed to get 3/4 bushel from noon until 4:30 pm.using 25 traps All of the crabs were slammers 7- 8 1/2 inches. crabbed in 10-12 ft. of water.
Commercial crabbers were running their lines in 15-20 ft. of water at the mouth of the Chester with some success.
