Yesterday i caught the end of Mike Iaconelli's show called City Limits where he fishes urban evvironments, and it got me thinking. I have never seen anyone fishing the inner harbor. I would think those seawalls and floating docks would have to hold fish right? Anyone tried it?

I don't think I'd even want to touch a fish caught up in that area. Years ago a friend did a bunch of samples from the bottom all up and down the harbor area. She told me the heavy metals counts were "off the charts" for that entire area.

There's plenty of rock in the inner harbor; ask Capt. Chuck Fisher. He used to run his charterboat "Bluefish" out of there all the time. He knows some nice holes that always held rock. When I had a small C.C. ; we would fish off the Ft. McHenry wall and in front of the "Cement" towers all the time; "c&r". On a windy day, when you couldn't get out on the bay; the inner harbor was a neat place to fish. By the way; night fishing off some of the large piers that are lit up like airports, are fun on a hot summer night. 5th (Marty)

Tried it. I fished two six inch BKDs in a rig a kid showed me. I caught a few rockfish (all c&r) from the parking lot between the Pier 6 pavillion and the Aquarium.

There are some great honey holes from inside the key bridge all the way to the inner harbor. Produce some nice sized bass most of the year. I did a couple of scouting trips two years ago and found some that held fish all year long...but never fished right up against the walls in the harbor..

Well now I gotta give it a try. I would guess I could launch from that ramp/park on Boston Street. Anyone ever used that ramp? Is it nice? Is there a fee? Will my truck and trailer be safe there? I am in a 18' ft flats boat so the shorter the run the better. Thanks all for the info!

Walking along the sea wall near the science center last spring - I saw Bluegill and some Pickerel between the shoreline and a floating dock.

I've seen kids fishing there in summer catch White Perch.I'd be willing to bet there are fish to be caught.Saw Bluefish breaking near the old cement shilo.Rock are often caught near Fort McHenry - some wild drop offs there.

Fort Armstead has a decent ramp - right under the Key Bridge on the Anne Arundel county side. Not sure about Boston street.

Tthe Bston Street ramp is decent, but i don't know if it's ice free as of Sunday. Harbor Hospital ramp is O.K. Fort Armistead ramp - not if the wind is from the South/East, rough water.
Warm water discharge at Domino Sugar, on Middle Branch, west of the Hanover Street Bridge, Brandon Shores, and I'm sure that a lot of the lurkers can name several more.
During the warmer months, I did well on White perch, schoolie rock, and swarms of 12-15" bluefish in the Middle Branch. Also some Yellow Perch, LM Bass and assorted sunfish.
Farther up, Belle Grove pnds will have Yellow perch and pikeral, as soon as they ice out-I wouldn't trust the ice today. Carp and other freshwater fish as well. (Technically in the County)
Much farther up the Patapsco, SM Bass and stocked trout.
You could even make a case for Cow nosed Rays in the flats just south of Fort McHenry!
All ramps are no-fee launches BTW
City Limits is an interesting concept, but who could stand fishing with that dude?

The Boston St. ramp is pretty good, although a lot of garbage, etc is usually washed up there (it's the harbor though, par for the course). It is safe, well lit. It is no wake though for a good ways out to Ft. McHenry though. You may want to launch a little further out the river.

Ike, is a true nut, I've fished with him in a Bass tourny and he never hollered all day and caught a quite a few fish.

He is a good guy, and sells himself as a fishing nut.

I fish and live in Canton and I've caught lot's of stripers, trout,Largemouth bass in the tributaries that feed the harbor.
