I've seen a couple of mentions lately of the book Cod Wars and have not read it.
I did a search and found a couple of different books.
Can someone tell me the author of this book.
Obviously I'd like to order it.

Nope

Hey Jim,
I've read Striper Wars.
In the thread "Someone really explain the EEZ to me" there's a couple of references to Cod Wars.
I've not read it and am interested.
By the way, the best book I've ever read regarding Comm. fishing and the Magnuson / Stevens Act is a book called The Doryman"s Reflection by Paul Molyneaux.
It is rivetiing. I've read it several times and just started reading it again last night.

Thanks to all

I should have just made this thread "Recomended reading for the winter".
I read a lot and only read non-fiction.
All of it pertaining to the history of fishing in one way or another.
I am making up a list of the books that have been mentioned already.

Thanks,
GScott

We may be seeing new "Cod Wars" starting in the Mediterranean over the Tuna fishing in bears watching as the world economy is locking down, China's new found growth and demand, Japan's constant demand for Blue Fin Tuna with the decrease in stocks world wide.
The King Of Sushi, Growing Demand For Sushi Is Having A Big Impact On The Bluefin Population - CBS News
Nat Geo had a special as well little african boaters going out in the dead of night to get on the fish with some magical incantations from the village elders and Big Euro boats with double bridges with 2 fish finders, radar, sonar,etc...

AlleyCat,
You may be thinking of a book called The Oyster Wars by David Faulkner.
I've not read it but will have by Spring.

GScott
I just finished reading this book. It is probably not what you are looking for. It is an historical novel that covers kidnapping and murder in Crisfield just after the Civil War and the solving of these crimes. It does deal with the subject of kidnapping that supposedly went on in Baltimore and Annapolis back then. Seems they would kidnap men and sell them to oysterboat captains back then. It is a very good read. And it's always nice to read about places you are familiar with. It does mention the conflicts between Va. and Md. erystermen and the dredgers vs. the tongers though.

The book in a later thread looks like the book I want to read also.
