Any advice on stream fishing this weekend in VA waters. I am thinking of trying Passage creek with some tiny (16, 18) nymphs if is not too cold. Any other advice?
The only advice I can provide is, if its still cold this weekend, I would target your time for the warmest part of the day, plan for iced guides and dress really warm.
The put and take section of Passage has not been stocked for a while so I think most of the fish are gone unless they stocked it today. There should be fish left at the delayed harvest section. Fishing could be tough if the water levels are low and sections iced over.
Plan on only fishing the C+R portion. We have had some snow that should melt over the next day or two so I think the water level would be alright. It can be tough, but I am really wanting to wet a fly or two.
