YP season has been modified to open Dec.1st. this year instead of Jan.1st. This should help the watermen get their quota this season with the extra month of netting.Watch out for the nets There must be too many in our rivers

Yup, can't hardly run a boat up the rivers for the YP.

Same in the bay with the menhaden.
Hazard to navigation, prolly why the supply chain's backed up!

Must be why ASMFC raised the quota last week, too many of them.
Probably PAY Omega to thin them out.

If you can no longer catch your quota in the same amount of time you used to. make the season longer. That will fix the problem .That will be proof there;s more YP in the Bay . This might be the first year they catch their quota in a few years. If not, they can extend the season another month next year and try again. When they catch their quota, they can pat themselves on the back for a job well done

I bet if you ask MD DNR Fisheries what their YP & WP management plan is you would get a blank stare. Heard complaints from Recs the Netters get them all during the spawn and we're left with the scraps.
