Launched my jonboat on are comm. creek in the Magothy.......Spend about 2 1/2 hrs. probing the docks and shoreline with only 2 hits for my efforts.....Had one pickeral hit my white roadrunner w/chart. twister and follow the lure right up to the boat......Then 10 cast later had another hit and a yellow perch follow the lure to the boat.

Although I have lived here since 1995, I have not spend much time fishing for pickeral in our creek but the little I have done, I hav'nt caught more than one or two on any giving outing........so I'm gonna keep searching and learning and try other creeks. Wish I had a better report for everyone.

I was out today on the Magothy for about 90 minutes in search of pickerel but had little to show for my efforts. The pickerel fishing on the Magothy is very poor right now compared to a couple years ago when it was off the charts good. I caught a few yellow perch today using minnows and shad dart. I read a post yesterday that the pickerel fishing on the Severn is very good right now. Is that true?

Forgot to note that I ran into Virgil in Severna Park a couple months ago and apparently he hasn't been fishing much. What's with that? New girlfriend maybe?
Virgil's caught every Pickerel in the Magothy & Severn atleast 4 times. He knows them by their first & last names...including their children & grand children.

What creek are you fishing b/c I haven't been having much luck right now where I fish on Old Man Creek ,although earlier this year my friend caught about a 23 incher and my other friend caught a 21. The only thing i was catching was a couple 16 inchers. I'm looking forward to more reports and better pickerel.

Two Wednesdays ago went out to my favorite pickerel spot on the Magothy with a friend
of mine. Caught one 21" pickerel and lost another. Usually pick up at least a dozen fish
working that creek. Fishing that area is not as good as it's been in years past. It was
the creek that I had the pleasure of meeting the famous Virgil Poe.
