I am hearing from reliable sources that crabbing is still VERY good since the storms ended. I'm planning on going either Thursday or Friday this week.

Remember...start time for recs (like me) is now 1/2 hour AFTER sunrise during October and November - Presumably to avoid any conflicts with Duck and Goose hunters. Just a word of caution - this time change is easy to forget!

Great to see everyone at Crabfest! Lots of fun and good food! I'm sure I'll be on the shucking table in February!

The best crabs of the year will be caught thru Halloween in rivers. Follow them out with tpx into deeper water. During the rain and cool wx they went deeper but are coming back to shallow water until the real chill sets in. So sayeth the waterman I have spoke with. They plan to crab until Halloween, then go tonging. Crabs will be caught by bay potters into November as they migrate to deeper water to sleep.
