Went out yesterday, got a little wet waiting for the sun to pop through which it never did. Anyway we fished in the same ole areas at the mouth of Lagrange and weeks flats but caught only stragglers. We accidently difited into 2.5 and 3 foot of water and filled the boat. The croaks are definitely shallow (at least yesterday). Once we were into them they hit squid and bloodworms - it did not matter. We caught several that had swallowed both hooks they were so hungry. Good luck...

Fished up at buoy 26 - 28 area and caught 28 croakers in the 12-16" range. Also hauled in 24 catfish. Better than being at work even if it was a little wet in the AM. By 2 pm the weather had cleared and some sun was peaking in.

Ran a charter yesteday(Thursday) and caught 100 to 150 croakers and 7 release Rockfish. Charter about flipped when I pulled 50 yards off the dock and anchored. Caught 40 or so right there and stopped 3 more times to pick up around 80 before clearing the Lagrange creek day markers. Very little at Red barns but good numbers of fish at old bouy 9 19 foot of water. Got a little bumpy so we came back into the creek to finish off the day.

Jon I caught most of my fish in 4 to 5 feet of water(I draw 3 feet so I was pretty carefull setting up HA HA!) Casting we might have been in less. Marked good fish in river they are there but wouldn't bite. The fish down at old bouy 9 where caught in 19 ft of water but the hole I fish there always produces. While I was out Medly called me wanting a fishing report. I told him stay in Robinson creek. He did and caught 50 to 1.5 lbs in 4 or 5 feet of water. With the weather the way it is the creeks are a full 5 to 7 deg warmer than the river and are drawing fish right now. Screwy weather but good fishing if you adapt. Bloodworms worked best for me Medly said his fish would only bite squid. Carry both and don't sit o a spot thats not producing. Move until you find them then look for similar places and conditions. It sound funny as croakers are supose to be a easily caught fish but right now you have to act like a bass fisherman and find the pattern Unless your fishing from the bank or dock in the creek.

I was using cooked shrimp and was catching them hand over fish compaired to my father-in-law who was using bloodworms. I finally talked him into using shrimp. Never got around to using the squid that I brought. I always have both shrimp and squid for bait. Never know what they want.
