The crew was Capt. Brian Hodson and his better half Admiral Cathy Hodson
, Jeff, Chuck and myself. C-Time departed Little Creek @ 0545 and headed EAST...waaaay EAST
. Lines in at the Norfolk Canyon at 0830. Our first drop we were all hooked up, but it was a couple dogs and only one bass. Second drop was 2 bass and one dog. Capt. says "bring 'em in"...we're moving. We made a quick adjustment and shortly after it was GAME ON:yes:!! We were steady crankin' on a really nice class of tiles. With with wind and seas steadily building we needed to work quickly. During the morning we landed several that made citation weight on the boga grip, so our Captain, in his infinite wisdon, had us mark our paper fish with different colored zip ties before we tossed 'em in the box. Made it real easy to sort out our fish back at the scales:thumbup:. After we boxed our tiles, we decided to move to the DEEEEP and try for a grouper. By that time it was blowing 15-20 and it was almost impossible to hold bottom so we pointed the C-Time west and settled in for the long ride home. We made 18kts for the first 15 miles then bumped up to 21kts and were running at 26kts once we got to the Triangles.
It was good seeing a few other TFers out there. A big THANK YOU goes out to Capt Hodson and Cathy "The Admiral" Hodson for an AWESOME trip and not only putting me on my first tiles, but 3 that weighed for citations...biggest was 11.8lbs:clap:
